This town is colder now, I think it's sick of us It's time to make our move, I'm shaking off the rust I've got my heart set on anywhere but here I'm staring down myself, counting up the years Steady hands, just take the wheel... And every glance is killing me Time to make one last appeal... for the life I lead
Stop and stare I think I'm moving but I go nowhere Yeah I know that everyone gets scared But I've become what I can't be, oh Stop and stare You start to wonder why you're here not there And you'd give anything to get what's fair But fair ain't what you really need Oh, can you see what I see

Antic is not your ordinary blind child, in fact, he's a prince-though accept the title he has, nor will not. Being the son of a wealthy family and brother to none, he became blind at a very young age. Not that it has bothered him, nor dampened his cheery mood, he has taken life with stride and approached every day as if it were his last.
When his parents decided to adopt, he was more than thrilled to help along in the process as much as he could, and upon gaining himself a older brother, was actually the one to suggest that the crown go to him. You see, with the trouble of being blind, he felt that his heritage was better suited for someone more capable- and personally, he'd rather not be bound to the duties and responsibilities that came with the title. Although he never accepted the crown, his family still holds him in high regards and often sees him as the perfect king, as it takes a good bit of nobility to step aside for the sake of the kingdom.
In his younger days, Antic had developed the skill of controlling his dreams. Because he could not see, and the things he does recall seeing, his imagination was left to the wonders of the world, and able to decipher them as he pleased. Unfortunately, this meant that he slept a lot more than most children, thus robbing him of the chance to experience life to it's fullest. He didn't mind one bit, but as the saying goes 'too much of a good thing becomes a bad thing' and as he grew to make his dreams more real, he began to loose the function of being able to tell the difference between them.
It wasn't long before he became trapped within his own dream, stuck in a coma without even realizing it. He was asleep for weeks, which felt like years in his own mind, the only thing able to wake him was the call of his mother, who had finally returned from her own bed-ridden state. After that, Antic found it difficult to sleep, seeing as how he did not want to fall again into the perilous state he had been. Try as he might, he couldn't come to a solution and finally, sleeps' deadly grip took hold. However, he had been resting alongside his mother, of whom had also fallen asleep (having been doing her best to keep him company in his plight to stay awake) though upon drifting to sleep, found himself not in his own dreamworld, but hers'. From then of, he found that he could sleep peacefully so long as he was in physical contact with another- though at the cost of having to share their dream as well.
This wasn't much a problem to him, and he even taught others how to control their dreams with such ability, though always reminding them to make it as unreal as possible-for if they turned their dreams into reality, then they too might fall to the perils of being literally lost in a dream.

They're trying to come back, all my senses push Untie the weight bags, I never thought I could... Steady feet, don't fail me now Gonna run till you can't walk Something pulls my focus out And I'm standing down...
