Fea is a curious fox indeed. A spirit of a phenomenon known as 'foxfire' she is actually the one responsible for causing mushrooms to glow in the dark. By caring around a lantern filled with fox fire, she 'lights' the mushrooms and causes them to glow, which often act as guides to those who are lost in the woods. She doesn't realize this however, and simply find her joy in lighting the mushrooms and making them glimmer.
Her 'job' as a fox spirit is simple. She plays tricks, for the most part, but when she was young (about 500 years ago) she made a poor trick upon a imperial guardian, who then decided to give her a task that was more productive than just having her laze about. He gave her a lantern, blessed with the fox fire, and he told her to light the path of lost travelers. So she took the lantern happily (having never been one to turn down free stuff) and went on her way. As the many years passed she somewhat forgot about her duties, having found such a great curiosity in making said mushrooms glow. So often, she may end up leading people further into the woods.
Having stumbled upon the circus of horrors, she has found it impeccably amusing to leave her special glowing mushrooms upon their tent posts and lamp stands. When a elder spirit saw her here, she asked if the joyous spirit wanted to stay and mingle with other spirits like herself. Fea agreed, after having found her curiosities in a strange cat, who had abilities and fascinations quite like herself. So now, she often amuses the crowd, by lighting up her special mushrooms and making them glow with variable colors.
