Niels is a character based in the universe of Inception.
Spencer is over organized. He will organize everything to the smallest detail and he'll make sure everything goes according to plan. He seems to be a bit of a martyr, though most of it is just an act. He's deemed trustworthy, which is why he was so fondly enrolled in the job. He's honest and has a very gravelly sense of humour, he works too hard and generally doesn't like to be left in the dark with anything. He expects to know exactly what is going on and where, constantly. Overall he's just a perfectionist with a bit of a chaotic personality. Spencer considers himself to be crucial to the teams success, so when he's knocked down he tends to take a very long time getting back up. He also hates messing things up, for obvious reasons, thus the perfectionist personality takes its role.
and some history...
Spencer was born to an average family of average people living generally average lives. At the age of Eighteen, he found himself in and out of a night-cell constantly. He didn't like the average life that his average family lived in their little average British house. He moved to America. In America he found no fame, he found no anything, he just found more jail time, more crimes to commit and more average lifestyle. Living in a small apartment above the laundrette, he just continued to plot and plan his next business.
He was always very good at getting information. He'd been well renowned for getting said-information about just about anyone or anything. He could find it out personally or within other boundaries. He tended to use this information against the law and lived his usual outlaw life. Of course, Spencer had never heard about Extraction, nor Inception. [ Not of the kind he was about to be invited to join, at least. ] One day Spencer had a phone call, this phone call was from a person of which wanted that little bit of effort out of him. Of course he had to accept, it was all in the interest of the young man.
Since he joined the side of the Extractor, he found himself gaining more esteem, he felt more relaxed with his life when he realised how powerful the job at hand was. His personality completely changed within the years it took to teach him everything he needed to know. Trusty totem in hand, now he spends his days doing the odd jobs that himself and the others are asked to do. [ Normally for a high price, of course. ] He works solely as the 'sidekick' to the 'main man'. He's well aware that his role is hazardous, but he enjoys it nonetheless. Something deep down isn't quite right though, if he couldn't cover his emotions quite so well, some could almost call him suspicious.
