Pet Profile
Syd
Everyone told me I was different growing up, that I didnt fit in, that I didnt belong... and they were right.
I am from a world unlike your own where fallen champions and demons wander this realm. There is no such thing as heaven or hell like it is told in your lands belief. Here, is where ones life merely waits to be reborn again to finish unfinished business, to make up for the sins they committed, or face the True Death, and rest forever never to truly awake again.
You see I am unlike anyone that wanders the land here. I have never had a past life to tell, no unfinished business to attend, nor sins to atone for. I was the first to be born into this world, the only one to be born, and first-born son to Lilith and Jupiter.
The day I was brought into this world I was immediately considered a curse, a demon child from the womb of Lilith. I was not like the others that wandered here and was a glitch in whatever realm this was. Many sought to kill me but my mother, my sweet mother would have never let that happen. You see my father, Jupiter, was immediately cast out of the world once I was born and my mother was left here while the High Council considered what to do.
Lilith, unlike the tales say, was neither demon nor angel but a creation like myself. Her only damnation was refusing to obey the commands of a man who was obsessed with controlling her. Now she faced the same situation and could not bare that thought. My mother, Lilith, sacrificed herself and anchored her soul to mine to create a permanent immortality like shield around me. No one knew if I could live outside of this realm or if I could die but Lilith took no chances and in front of the High Council unleashed this spell upon me.
The High Council was now forced to watch over me, to observe, and see how I grew, and boy did I ever.
I was neither good nor evil, demon or champion, I was known as the Untouchable. Fitting name I suppose since neither life or the True Death could touch me. I excelled in all forms of combat and mage craft specifically the power of electronic currents, lightening for short. I was soon selected as the Gatekeeper to the True Death where demons and champions faced their last battle.
The True Death was a beautiful ceremony. It didnt matter what you had done in your life, a demon or champion, they were thought as an equals in this arena. Many entered the arena to prove to themselves and others that I could be beaten, and if they did beat me the High Council would appoint to them a position on the Council, the highest achievement any demon or champion could receive.
On the day I became the High Councils Gatekeeper, guard dog, not one demon or champion has beaten me. Each one of them has met their True Death. Unlike them I am neither good nor evil. I have one duty and that is to send them on to meet Him.
I stretched leisurely as my claws dug into the sand. There is a ceremony today and in the distance I can hear the crowd already chanting. Chanting for death, chanting for life, chanting because there was nothing else to do. I had placed most of my battle armor on already; the High Council seal gleamed brightly in the mirror. I adorned the armor for them, not myself. I didnt need this protection but it made them seem invincible and I owed them for not sending me to the depths of Hatius. Hatius, the land of no return for unforgivable acts committed against the High Council.
I stared at the mirror one last time. I hated the reflection I saw. It was me but it wasnt me. I had always felt lost but some days more so than others. I nodded at myself and took off to face my opponent in the arena. Today I was nervous for some reason and couldnt control my aura well. My electric circuits that were all over my body kept firing making me agitated and more nervous.
I entered the entrance to the arena below where I was immediately greeted by Pelaguix. Pelaguix was a strong sturdy Shyre that had been a battle steed for many champions and was brother to Pegasus. Unlike many of the citizens of this realm Pelaguix treated me normally and was my closest friend.
'You seem a little off edge,' he said as he began walking with me. His hooves echoed off the arena walls as we walked towards the belly of the arena.
'I cant seem to shake this weird feeling. My circuits keep firing and I…' I trailed off as my body was shocked.
An extremely unpleasant feeling took over my body. This was pain. I had never felt pain and now I understood why everyone took extreme measures to avoid it…
My body was paralyzed and I stood perfectly still as I screamed in agony internally.
Pelaguix had barely noticed and just as he did I was quickly snapped out of the painful trance.
'Maybe that armor will come in handy today,' he said as he pushed open the doors to the belly of the arena.
'You might be right,' I quickly said as I darted into the blinding light of the arena.
The crowd cheered and some booed at my presence. Till this day many were not fond of my existence in this world. I ran towards my place under the High Council and bowed to them. They acknowledged my presence with a nod and Zethena, one of the High Council members, began to make her speech and introduce the champion or demon I would be facing.
'Today is a very special day just like the rest of our True Death matches but this one I believe you will find even more exceptional. 39 years ago on this date we banished a member of high importance back to the realm of the living to repay for his sins. Yesterday he returned to us and demanded his right of the True Death. May I introduce Jupiter, God of the Sky and lightning, better known as Zues to those that served with him in the realm of the living,' Zethena spoke calmly but with such force that the crowd fell silent.
I had never known my father but I could sense his presence. There was a pull inside of me and I knew he was across the arena from me. This must have been why my circuits had been firing. They were reacting to him. I turned and faced him.
He was almost my spitting image but I still held my mothers eyes. I couldnt tell if he was here to fight me or scold me for being born, but I was born without a choice into a world that was not my own.
Zethena interrupted my thoughts as she spoke the words of the arena rules, rules that I had heard a thousand times but they were in a different order and before I had time to react I felt my fathers body smash into mine.
I hurled across the arena and smashed into the walls that had once been my support in battle. I quickly flew out of it targeting onto my target and struck out. I connected with my fathers face and he flew into the air like a rag doll. He landed with such force that a small crater was made around him. I inched closer to his motionless body but was quickly struck by pain that rippled through my whole body.
He made eye contact with me and I could feel him slip into my mind. He was reading my thoughts, I could feel him pushing back into my mind, searching, looking for something. I tried to shake him off but the pain that struck me when I did left me blank.
'Where is she?' he screamed inside my head.
'Who? What… what do you want?' I struggled to say.
'Lilith, where is my Lilith?' he screamed louder as he pushed past the years of my life and memories of growing in this realm. Until he stumbled upon a memory that I didnt even know existed, one that was planted in my mind by Lilith. She had known this was going to happen. My father and I both paused as she began to speak and explain what had happen all those years ago...
