Brought to the circus from another circus that mistreated their animals, Torment was the star of their show. Beaten and neglected, Torment was used as a wild beast in the "other" circus and was made into something fierce, which was against her natural habits. They turned her into a paranoid and extremely dangerous creature, fearing for her life and body every time someone interacted with her. When she got to the Circus of Horrors, she was almost un-savable, but by the will of one of the tamers, she was saved. He gained her trust and also convinced her to trust others, to some extent. Still lacking confidence, she needs him to be by her whenever she is out, or else she gets extremely panicky. However, she has become confident enough to step back into the spotlight, and is actually enjoying it this time around.
