There had been a drought for many days which caused a shortage of food and the air to be very dusty. A more than strange thing for an island surrounded by water. The people would have used the water around them but it was not good for crops nor to drink. Later the seas became rough and a great ship had been smashed apart against the island rocks. An ancient looking man crawled up the shore. Odd looking fellow with wings like a vulture but broken and loosing many feathers. Atop the mans head were horns in a halo shape, what looked to be a cloud in the center. The people of the island did not know what to think of this sick old man. Amongst themselves they decided to help the man recover then send him on his way. He may have been a bad omen for them or even the cause of the drought. Helping the old man along they took him to the village healer where he would be spending his stay. At first not many would come to visit him but the children were most curious. They would try to see the old man any chance they were given. A few weeks past and the parents of the children came to visit. Feeling sorry for the old man and seeing he was no threat they would bring him food. Later elders of the village went to pray over the strange old man. People started to notice the more often he was visited the better he became. Though no one was sure if he could talk they could see the strange wings on him had become stronger, no longer broken. By the day more feathers were showing. The strange cloud in the center of his horns was no longer blue but dark and heavy as though it would rain. A month past and the ancient man was finally able to walk around and move his wings against the winds. The man encouraged the village to gather to him. He said, "I am the spirit of the winds that bring the rain. Captured by the greed of the men who were on the ship. They refused to let me go thinking I would bring them great wealth. Because of this the seas became rough the lands rough, dry, and sickly. When I return to my home restoring land and sea, for your kindness I will grant you many months of bountiful harvest." The next day the very old man said his goodbye to the people and as he flew further away the people saw their island change and the crops grow more beautiful than ever.
