Other Form: Black wolf with silver markings and eyes.
Family: Twin sister to Aris. Daughter of Kian and Freya.
Appearance: In her human form, Vela has delicate and feminine features, lacking most flaws. She has very light skin, big bright blue eyes, and wavy black hair that flows just below her shoulders and is usually worn down. She has slightly longer canines that are only visible when she smiles. She's rather petite, standing at 5'2" and weighing around 100 pounds. She normally wears dark clothing, usually accompanied by a black coat that reaches just below her hips and basic black boots.
Abilities: Mental manipulation. She's able to manipulate others minds by using her eyes, voice, or touch, developing a connection between her mind and theirs. The closer she is to her victim, the stronger the effect. She can evoke subtle or strong feelings and emotions, hallucinations, and persuade and manipulate others into doing or saying things they normally wouldn't, including turning their abilities or weapons on themselves. She can suppress memories and cause others to recall false memories. She can control her own emotions (though finds it rather difficult and overwhelming at times). Can transform into a wolf form at will.
Weakness: Her main weakness is her own mind, falling victim to the memories and emotions of any pain or death she's previously brought upon others, usually plagued by the memories during sleep.
She does not have complete control over her power. Being rather small, she's not able to physically defend herself against others too well.
Personality: She is quiet, reserved, and analytical around strangers, only opening up to those she feels comfortable with, but even then she tends to keep her mind fairly guarded. She usually isolates herself from others in fear of harming them, but craves companionship and affection and is very warmhearted and clingy to those she considers friends, and is also unusually playful, flirtatious, and excitable around them. She can be stubborn, sarcastic, and reckless, and has been known to deliberately overstep the boundaries of others both physically and emotionally just to see what kind of reaction she can get out of them. She often has issues with her own emotions, and her outlook on things are somewhat unpredictable and confusing, switching rapidly between optimism and pessimism without much warning.
Other: She can be very clingy and has a strong desire to bond with someone due to her natural instincts (being a wolf) but her rough childhood experiences and the death of her brother pushed her into a more extreme and slightly dysfunctional mindset.
History: Vela was born into a lower-class family, entering this world along side her twin brother, Aris. Her parents were both able to transform into wolves, their true forms, and successfully passed that onto their children. The family spent most of their days isolated from the outside world and spent a majority of their time nearby their small home tucked away in the mountains, as far away from others as possible. Her mother was a typical homemaker, keeping up with their small living quarters and trying her best to meet the needs of her husband and children. Her father worked outside of the home, coming and going as he pleased, and never sharing his actual whereabouts or what he did for a living with others, including his own family. When Vela was a few years old she began to exhibit the same mental abilities as her father, having inherited them from him, and in fear that she would one day use them against him, he tried his best to suppress them by using his own powers on her.
"Look into my eyes, you will see what you mean to me.
Search your heart, search your soul, and when you find me there you'll search no more."
Exodus says Exodus didn't react much to her presence at all, instead remaining in his crouch and keeping his eyes tightly closed. He was largely motionless, wings flicking occasionally to show that he was still something other than a statue. His mind was just as closely guarded, an ironclad defense surrounding his consciousness with very little opportunity to break through it. There were chinks in the armor, though, and they were constantly being attacked by a much more powerful force than her silvery suggestions. It was an all-consuming sort of darkness, the kind that someone wouldn't wake up from so easily. The Prince himself made his way through the ranks, his attacks slowly being beaten down by Zreii but the girl unable to make much progress. Frustration began to etch its way across the Prince's features, the man finally lashing out with that frustration against the valkyrie attacking him. With one quick swipe darkness lashed across the specter's form, knocking her blade from her hand and sending her to the ground in a flurry of broken white feathers. Powerful as she was, and she was indeed quite powerful, this being had swatted her like a fly. She hit the ground with a soft thud, wings sprawled out at painful angles not all that far from Exodus and Vela. The evil being then turned his attention to them, darkness swirling around him as he moved to take aim more directly at his target. "You really think you can beat me at my own game?" he chidded, smirking devilishly as he looked over the pair of them with burning purple eyes. Before he could do or say anything else, though, a flash of flames exploded before him and the fiery knight landed in front of them protectively, massive sword held to rest on one shoulder with a cocky smile plastered across his face. "We sure do!" Zune replied, rushing forward to take Zreii's place as a distraction. Ex flinched, subconsciously aware of what was happening but still mostly unwilling to let down his defenses for fear of the Prince taking advantage of it first. "Vela," he started, eyes opening but mind still completely closed off. "You'll have to be fast." |
